The Parliament of Ukraine is interested in further development of cooperation with their European colleagues. This was stated by chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Rybak during the meeting with the Vice-President of the European Parliament Jacek Protasiewicz, the Parliament’s press service informs.

During the meeting, the sides discussed issues of cooperation between Ukraine and the European Parliament, the simplification of the visa regime and the inter-parliamentary cooperation.

Rybak noted the crucial importance of cooperation with the European Parliament on the Ukraine-EU key issues, in particular in terms of preparation for the signing of the Association Agreement. He stressed that Ukraine is aware of the value of the position of the European Parliament "in the context of the EU assessment of certain internal political processes in our country," and the issue of signing and ratification of the Association Agreement.

According to him, the parliamentary political forces, realizing the importance of the implementation of reforms in the electoral law, the justice system, etc., make every effort for the early implementation by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the tasks, relevant for the signature of the Association Agreement in November of this year. In this context, the speaker noted that the Ukraine also creates favorable conditions for the activities of the Mission of authorized representatives of the European Parliament, led by Kwasniewski and Cox.

In turn, Protasiewicz stated that the Ukrainian Parliament united around the idea of European integration. He praised the role of chairman of the Verkhovna Rada in the unification process, noting that the European Parliament has consistently supported Ukraine on the way to European integration.

According to Protasiewicz, some tasks are still should be completed by Ukrainian Parliament.
