Branches of universities will be left without state orders in the future, education minister Dmytro Tabachnyk told a briefing after the Cabinet’s meeting, ForUm correspondent reports.

"We plan to break a tradition of receiving state orders by the branches," the minister said.

Tabachnyk explained that assessment of knowledge in the branches of universities shows that they prepare students significantly worse than the main educational establishment.

"Principals should understand – it’s time to stop filling their pockets and play branches," he said.

The minister added that in the future only specialized high schools are to receive state orders.
