Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov requires that 100% of Ukrainian healthcare and recreation institutions for children to be ready to accept tourists by June 1, he said, opening the Cabinet’s meeting, ForUm correspondent reports.
According to him, this Saturday, more than 113 thousand children will arrive in camps for summer vacation. Meanwhile, rehabilitation of three million children is planned.
"This year we set the bar high – to provide rest and recreation for three million children. At least 70% of schoolchildren should rest in every region, and at least 40% (1.1 million children) should not only rest, but also obtain high-quality health improvement. For this goal, funding for children’s recreation in 2013 from the budgets of all levels was raised by 20%," he said.
The head of government said that, as of today, almost all regions are ready to provide children with holidays. But he noted that in some western regions in Ukraine the number of children who were sent on vacation at public cost had not reached the average state level.
In addition, Azarov stressed that the regions that can not independently provide 70% of pupils with quality recreation should agree with other regions.
The Prime Minister instructed all members of the government to work on this issue.
