Association Agreement between the EU and the Eastern partners could lead to a breakthrough in the transformation of the post-Soviet area, EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy Stefan Füle stated on May 28 at the session of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly.
"If we sign one of these Association Agreements and initial the others, for the first time we will take a significant leap in the real transformation of the post-Soviet area. I do not know whether you agree with the fact that this will change the game," the Commissioner addressed the Assembly.
He stressed that at the Vilnius summit of "Eastern Partnership", EU would like to sign and initial the Association Agreements, which has never signed with its partners. These agreements, according to Füle, will become a real tool of political association and economic integration.
At the summit in late November, EU also hopes to initial agreements with Moldova, Georgia and Armenia.
