From beginning of the year, Kyiv tax police has solved 418 criminal offenses, disclosed 10 conversion centers, acting first deputy head of the Incomes and Fees Ministry Kyiv department – head of financial investigation department Ihor Usyk said during roundtable, ForUm correspondent reports.

He added that as a result, about 100 million UAH were returned to the budget from shadow turnover.

According to him, the newly established Ministry tightens supervision over fight against smuggling, which reduces the competitiveness of legitimate business. "Revealing and suppressing violations of customs rules, in January-April of 2013, we initiated 377 cases on violation of customs regulations. Our goal is to make smuggling and other economic crimes, unprofitable, and thereby encourage businesses in legal work," the official said.

He specified that the total economic effect for the state from law enforcement activity of Kyiv customs service in January-April 2013 was 3.2 million UAH, which is nearly 2.5 times more than in the corresponding period of 2012.
