Ukrainian first deputy foreign minister Ruslan Demchenko and Russian state secretary and deputy foreign minister Grigory Karasin met on May 27 and discussed their bilateral dialogue, including the schedule of contacts at the top political level, the information policy department of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reported.

Special attention was paid to the temporary stationing of the Russian Black Sea Fleet on Ukrainian territory.

The parties also discussed issues on development of the legal framework, cooperation in the trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres – in particular the preparations for marking the 1025th anniversary of the Christianization of Kyiv Rus this year and the 200th birthday of Taras Shevchenko in 2014.


Both sides also exchanged views on some international and regional issues and the priorities of Ukraine’s chairmanship of the OSCE in 2013, Interfax-Ukraine informs.
