Ukraine is ready to join all the agreements of the Customs Union, which do not contradict obligations of the country to the EU, foreign minister of Ukraine Leonid Kozhara said on Monday, speaking at the meeting of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the European Parliament.
“Our position here is open and direct: we join those provisions within the Customs Union, which do not contradict our obligations to the European Union," Kozhara said.
Minister noted that Ukraine is discussing a memorandum with the Customs Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan and hopes to obtain observer status.
In commentary to Ukrainian journalists after the meeting, the minister said that the main goal is not integration, but preventing disintegration, especially in the important areas for Ukraine, including the aerospace and aircraft industry.
