Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov has congratulated the border guards on their professional holiday, the Cabinet’s press office informs.
"On behalf of the Ukrainian government and myself I cordially congratulate you on your professional holiday - Border Guard Day. This day is a symbol of honoring the glorious traditions of heroism, courage and dedication in the service of many generations of border guards of our country," he said.
According to Prime Minister, border guards make a worthy contribution to the strengthening of the national security of the country and at the same time create the necessary conditions to ensure that the borders do not become an artificial barrier to business cooperation and friendships.
"You rightly earned the trust and respect of our fellow citizens with your honesty, oath loyalty. I am confident that you will continue firmly defending borders of the state, helping to improve its image internationally. I wish you and your families good health and well-being, happiness and prosperity, inspiration and success in honorable service to the benefit of Ukraine," the congratulatory message reads.
