Wage arrears in Ukraine as of May 1, 2013 amounted to UAH 1.056 billion, the State Statistics Service reported on Friday.
As of April 1, wage arrears amounted to UAH 1.078 billion. Thus, this figure shrank by UAH 22.193 million, or 2%, Ukrinform reports.
At the same time, wage arrears at economically active enterprises amounted to UAH 572.341 million, at bankrupt companies - UAH 428.223 million, and at economically inactive enterprises - UAH 55.649 million.
The largest debt was reported in Donetsk region (UAH 216.708 million) and Kharkiv region (UAH 89.06 million) regions, and the lowest debt was recorded in Chernivtsi region (UAH 284,000) and Rivne region (UAH 1.002 million).
