Social Policy Minister Natalia Korolevska does not support a draft Labor Code, which was registered in the parliament, for the document should be agreed upon by all parties to social dialogue.
The minister told reports in Kyiv on Thursday, Ukrinform reports.

"The Labor Code - this is a compromise between trade unions, employers and the government. Until all its provisions are agreed by the parties to social dialogue, it cannot be adopted. Therefore, I do not support the document, which is now registered in the Verkhovna Rada," Korolevska emphasized.

She stressed that the Labor Code should fully protect the rights of workers, including with respect to the guarantees of receiving wages, and reflect the position of already existing employment law.

"The Labor Code, restriction of rights of trade unions, employees and the deterioration of working conditions is out of the question. Judging by the content, the draft Labor Code was developed prior to the entry into force of the employment law, which establishes new rules on the labor market, as well as a number of other laws. Accordingly, the text of the draft Labor Code requires significant improvement," Korolevska underscored.
