The organizers will try to hold an Equality March in Kyiv on May 25, the organizing committee of Kyiv Pride 2013 has told Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty.
“We thought that something will be done to prevent us from taking to the streets in Kyiv on May 25,” the coordinator for work with the media of the Kyiv Pride 2013 committee, Olena Semenova, said, while commenting on the decision by Kyiv’s District Administrative Court to ban the holding of any events other than those envisaged by the Kyiv City Day program, including the Equality March.
Semenova said after the court decision that the issue does not concern changing the date for the Equality March in Kyiv.
“We assumed that there would be obstacles. We have plan B, and we have plan C. That is, we have other strategies – how we can hold an Equality March. And some of them will be used on May 25. Thus, we’ll come out and protest on this day, on May 25. We’re not talking about another date for the Equality March,” she said, Interfax-Ukraine reported.
