Two people have been rescued from the rubble of a collapsed three-storey residential building in Odesa, the main office of the State Service for Emergency Situations (SSES) in Odesa region reported on Thursday, Interfax-Ukraine informed.

“SSES workers rescued a man at 8 pm and a woman at 8.30 pm. They were hospitalized in a state of shock,” reads the statement.

As reported, a dangerous three-story residential building at 7/9 Kuibysheva Street in Odesa collapsed at about 1530 on Thursday. Three cars were damaged by the collapse.

Deputy Head of Odesa Regional State Administration Valeriy Matkovsky told that two people were alive in the ruins, contact had already been established with them and that the work to rescue them from the rubble was ongoing. He also added that all services would work at the scene of the collapse until they make sure that there are no other victims under the rubble.
