Centre for Olympic Studies and Olympic education was granted international status.
As ForUm correspondent reports, the relevant agreement has been signed today by president of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine Serhiy Bubka, president of the Olympic Academy of Ukraine and head of the Centre of Olympic Studies and Olympic Education Maria Bulatova and rector of the National Physical Education and Sports University Yevhen Imas.
According Bubka, the Center was established in 1993 with the assistance of the IOC President Juan Antonio Samaranch.
"It was a very significant and important step, because at the time there were only two Olympic training centers in the world - in Canada and Barcelona," he said.
For its part, Bulatova informed that over the years of work of the Center, there have been written many scientific works on the history of the Olympic movement, the Olympic values, etc. Many books and encyclopedias, prepared by the Centre, have been translated into English and distributed in other countries.
