On May 31, the Constitutional Assembly will hold a meeting, at which the concept of change in the Constitution will be presented, head of the CA Leonid Kravchuk announced.
"The meeting of the Constitutional Assembly is scheduled for May 31," he said. On May 25, the concept will be sent to members of the CA and made public on the website of the Assembly.
In particular, the draft will not include provisions on transition to a bicameral parliament and reduction of number of MPs, but it will provide for increasing the participation of Parliament in the appointment and dismissal of the government and the withdrawal of Parliament’s powers to appoint and dismiss judges, change system of formation of the High Council of Justice , granting the Supreme Court the right of legislative initiative.
