It seems that the defense of former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko is afraid of disclosure of evidence in the case of abuses at the corporation United Energy Systems of Ukraine, state prosecutor on the UESU case Maryna Kapinos told a press briefing after a meeting of the Kyivsky district court of Kharkiv.

"The defense uses fictions about some judicial decisions and demands that the district court close the case without considering it in fact, without disclosure of evidence in court. The impression is that the defense is afraid of the disclosure, as it could destroy the reputation of the accused," Kapinos noted.

According to her, the defendant has again missed the meeting, referring to the decision of the Supreme Court of Ukraine, which had allegedly acknowledged her innocence. "But the court has never made such a decision. Moreover, no court has ever considered the case of the UESU corporation management," Kapinos said, Ukrinform reported.

According to her, the possibility of considering the case on the merits was blocked by the defense back at the stage of pre-trial investigation and continues to be blocked by Tymoshenko during the trial.
