In Ukraine, about 20 thousand health children's camps are prepared for the summer season, but it is only a part of the existing infrastructure in the country. Social policy minister Natalia Korolevska is responsible for full restoration of the camp network, Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov stated during a visit to the Dnipro children's health complex, ForUm correspondent reports.
"We have a lot of work to do to restore the system that used to function. Over these years, many recreational facilities for children, unfortunately, lost their functions due to the lack of funding. Even this children's health complex shows that it is necessary the support such institutions to rise them at a new level," the head of government said.
In his view, summer camps built in the Soviet times must comply with modern requirements.
"I instructed our ministries and government to improve gradually the level of children's activities and restore the system," the Prime Minister noted.
In his view, the main task is a health improvement of children, especially those living in environmentally disadvantaged urban areas.
"The head of this camp put the question about food standards, I think we can solve it and revise these standards," Azarov said.
