Analog television will be completely replaced by digital broadcasting in 2015, head of the National Council of Ukraine on Television and Radio Broadcasting Volodymyr Manzhosov said during conference "Days of information society", ForUm correspondent reports.
"We are now at the stage of transition from analogue to digital television ... Our current task is to provide population with digital signal receivers. Under international treaty "Geneva 2006", the term of the final transition to digital broadcasting is July 2015," he said.
Manzhosov stressed that a strong digital TV network, consisting of 4 digital multiplexes and allowing distribute 32 channels during, has been formed in the country during a year.
The official added that according to the Ukrainian State Centre of Radio Frequencies, 95% of Ukrainians will be able to get a signal of the national digital television network.
