Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov instructed the education minister of Ukraine Dmytro Tabachnyk to prohibit forced participation of employees of higher education institutions in political activities.

"I instruct Tabachnyk to prohibit forcing academic staff to participate in any political activities. I ask minister Tabachnyk to inform all subordinate institutions of my order," PM said during Hour of Questions to the Government, responding to a relevant request of MPs, ForUm correspondent reports.

In turn, Tabachnyk said that Saturday, May 18, is not a working day for the universities, but the Ministry will check once again that no one forces teachers and other staff to take part in political activities.

He also asked the opposition to stop stimulate students with money to participate in political activities.

"I would like to appeal to the opposition. We also have information on the recruitment of students for participation in opposition rallies for money. I believe that it destroys the normal academic activity," Tabachnyk concluded.

As a reminder, on May 18, opposition will hold protest rally "Arise, Ukraine!" and the Party of Regions is going to hold the anti-fascist march.
