Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has congratulated workers of the sector of information and communication technology on the World Telecommunication and Information Society Day, the press service of the Secretariat of the Cabinet informs.
"The development of information society and information and communication technology is a strategic goal of Ukraine. This sector can and should be a catalyst for the development of the national economy," Azarov said, UKRINFORM reports.
He recalled that the government approved the development strategy for information society, the implementation of which will provide Ukraine's equal membership in the global information society that will help enhance national competitiveness, develop potential of the country, create conditions for high-quality access to services in the fields of information, education, science, health, culture and management.
"The joint development of information society in the country will be based on the principles of equal partnership of the authorities, citizens and businesses," the head of government noted.
Azarov wished the workers of the industry of information and communication self-confidence, optimism, professional success and personal creative achievements.
