The Verkhovna Rada adopted draft resolutions on commemoration of the deed of heroes of fight near Kruty village and on celebration of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Volodymyr Vernadsky, ForUm correspondent reports.

Opening the morning session, speaker Volodymyr Rybak suggested considering 18 draft resolutions under shortened procedure without debate.

Most of the deputies supported the speaker, but in the course of voting drafts did not gain enough votes, because the faction of the Party of Regions and the Communist Party had not vote for them.

As MP from the Party of Regions faction Hanna Herman explained, members of the PR faction had not vote for these resolutions as they were considered under abbreviated procedure and were not discussed by parliamentarians. "A misunderstanding happened, we merely did not hear the names," she said.

After a discussion, the drafts were put to a second vote and the majority of MPs supported them.
