The visa facilitation agreement between Ukraine and the EU will come into effect on July 1, acting director of the information policy department of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis stated, ForUm correspondent reports.

According to him, at the 8th meeting of the general committee of experts on the implementation of the Agreement, the parties exchanged formal notifications of the completion of all the procedures necessary for the entry into force of this document.

"The agreement will enter into force on 1 July of the current year," Perebyinis noted.
He noted that this document is the result of joint efforts of the parties, aimed at improving the existing procedures for issuing visas.

"We consider the entry into force of this agreement as an important element and the approach to the key objective - the introduction of a visa-free regime with the EU for citizens of Ukraine," the official said.
 
Thus, the adopted amendments to the existing agreement allow issue visas under simplified procedure for nine more categories of Ukrainian citizens.
