The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine did not approve the report of the National Television and Radio Broadcasting Council of Ukraine for 2013, ForUm correspondent reports.

After head of the Council Volodymyr Manzhosov had reported, MPs criticized both the report and work of the National Council. Only 180 MPs voted for approval of the report.

MP from the Party of Regions Hanna Herman believes that the National Council should re-report to the Parliament. "We can not allow such frivolous attitude towards the current situation," she complained.

In addition, she criticized the state of Ukrainian television, focusing on children's programs, in particular on their quality and quantity.

Her fellow faction member Derkach also asked the Prosecutor General to conduct the investigation into distribution of digital frequencies by the National Council at a time when Valery Khoroshkovsky headed the Security Service of Ukraine.

Speaker of the parliament Volodymyr Rybak instructed to prepare a draft resolution on the repeated report of the National Council.
