CEC to appoint date of repeated elections

The draft law on re-elections in the troubled constituencies provides for endowing the Central Election Commission with the right of appointing their date, leader of the Party of Regions faction Oleksandr Yefremov told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.

"This bill gives the CEC the right to declare elections in certain constituencies," he explained.

Answering a question whether elections will be appointed in the constituencies, the issue of which is now considered by the Constitutional Court, Yefremov said: "If some questions are considered by the Constitutional Court, I think, the CEC will not call election in these constituencies before the court’s ruling".
