Ukraine will initiate holding of all-European competition in history for school students, education and science minister of Ukraine Dmytro Tabachnyk told a conference on cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union in field of higher education.
"Ukraine has taken the initiative of holding European international competition in history," he said.
He noted that the competition should be based primarily on the principles of tolerance and respect for the history of the neighboring countries.
In addition, Tabachnyk informed that at the last Conference of Education Ministers of the EU there was supported the initiative of Ukraine to establish a common European school space.
Tabachnyk reiterated the high role of mutual exchange between Ukraine and EU achievements and initiatives in higher education and noted that Europe has repeatedly stressed the high quality of education provided by Ukrainian universities.
In his view, this opinion may be testified by the large percentage foreign students from European countries studying in Ukrainian universities, namely about 4 thousand students.
