"At the end of April we checked the positions, looked what we had done, what not. Out of 11 positions, we identified together with the EU, we have reached different levels of progress on eight of them," Yeliseev said.

However, he refused specify what kind of progress has been made on various directions. Yeliseev mentioned that the progress achieved gives hope for a positive decision of EU commissioners to sign the Association Agreement with Ukraine.

According to him, this technical decision is to be made on May 15. Following the meeting, the EU commissioners are to pass a package of documents to the European Parliament and the Council of the EU, as well as all the European Union member states.

"I want to point out that the final decision is the political one. It will be made solely by the member states in October this year," Kostyantyn Yeliseev added.

Answering a question, at what stage solving of issue of selective justice in Ukraine is, Yeliseev urged not to engage in "a subjective approach".

"We have three key areas, and within these three key areas (electoral reform, selective justice, reforms - Ed.), there are 11 questions on which we are working. And I would like to say that we are constantly monitoring. You know that this question involves a lot of reform efforts, in particular, reform of the judiciary, the Prosecutor General's Office, the Supreme Council of Justice. This is a complex question and we are working not only with Brussels, but also with the Venice Commission, the Council of Europe," Yeliseev explained.
