
Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych took part in a flower-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Kyiv on May 9 on the occasion of Victory Day.
The ceremony was attended by the first President of Ukraine Leonid Kravchuk, chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Rybak, other state leaders, chairman of the Kyiv City State Administration Oleksandr Popov and the veterans of the Great Patriotic War.
The ceremony participants observed a minute of silence to honour those killed during the Great Patriotic War (World War II).
