Today, on May 9, Ukraine and the world celebrate the Day of Victory in the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945). On this day, people traditionally remember the heroic feats of our ancestors, who sacrificed their lives for the sake of a bright future on our planet.
At 9 am, the actions devoted to the Victory Day started in Kyiv in Khreschatyk street, ForUm correspondent reports.
In particular, defence minister Pavlo Lebedev together with deputy mayor - Kyiv City Council secretary Halyna Hereha raised the national flag.
According to preliminary data, May 9, 14 thousand mass activities involving more than 2.8 million people will be held in almost five thousand settlements in all regions of Ukraine.
