Neither the "Gazprom" gas company, nor the Russian representatives sent an official notification to Brussels for participation in the roundtable, scheduled for May 3 in Brussels, on development of the gas market of Ukraine.
"Gazprom" and the Russian authorities have been invited to this event. However, we have not yet seen any official response from "Gazprom," European Commissioner for Energy Mr. Günther Oettinger said in interview.
Speaking directly about the scheduled event, the European Commissioner said that among the participants there are several major European gas companies, "Naftogaz of Ukraine", the international financial institutions such as the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, European Investment Bank, the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, and private financial institutions.
"The purpose of the roundtable is to jointly consider the possible development and potential of the Ukrainian gas market, and the measures to be done to improve the Ukrainian gas supply security," Mr. Oettinger noted.
