Identifying Ukraine as one of the major violators of intellectual property rights in the world in the Special 301 Report does not reflect the real state of affairs in this area and does not take into account the efforts of the Ukrainian government to improve the legal framework and law enforcement practice in issues of intellectual property. This is stated in the commentary of vice Prime Minister Kostyantyn Hryshchenko in connection with the decision of the U.S. Trade Representative on the protection of intellectual property rights in Ukraine.

"Effective protection of intellectual property in Ukraine is becoming an increasingly important factor in ensuring a favorable environment for the development of the country's innovation economy and development of the domestic information technology industry," the press service of the official informs.

Vice Prime Minister noted that in these conditions Ukraine with regret studies the decision of the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative.

Hryshchenko said that significant results have been achieved in the protection of intellectual property rights since the beginning of the year.
