As of 13.00, 380 events, dedicated to the International Day of Solidarity of Workers, were held in 236 Ukrainian cities. The total number of participants was about 200 thousand people, according to the Interior Ministry press office.

The events were initiated mostly by the Communist Party, the Socialist Party and the Progressive Socialist Party, as well as by local authorities.

"Most people came to the celebrations in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea - more than 80 thousand people, in the city of Sevastopol - 50 thousand, Zaporizhia region - 16 thousand, about 10 thousand people in Kyiv," the press service statement reads.

Maintenance of public order in all parts of the country was provided by more than 5.5 thousand police officers and 650 soldiers of the Interior Ministry troops. In particular, over 1.6 million law enforcement officers maintained order in the capital.

Rough violations of public order were prevented, the Interior Ministry press office reports.
