Economic development and trade minister of Ukraine Ihor Prasolov held a meeting with Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to Ukraine Krasimir Minchev and the Bulgarian delegation, which included representatives of the business, the Economic Development Ministry press service informs.

Prasolov noted a long tradition of Ukrainian-Bulgarian cooperation and assured that the meeting will contribute to the further development of bilateral relations.

"We are grateful to Bulgaria for the support and practical assistance in the implementation of the Strategy of Ukraine's European integration. We pay special attention to the signing of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, including the creation of a deep and comprehensive free trade area with the European Union," Prasolov said.

He also pointed out that Bulgaria is the largest trade partner of the country in the Balkan region. Prasolov stressed that Ukraine is interested in further expansion of Ukrainian-Bulgarian trade and economic cooperation.

"The Republic of Bulgaria has traditionally been our important and reliable trading partner. I note that in 2012 the foreign trade turnover of goods and services between Ukraine and the Republic of Bulgaria made up 916 million dollars. Of course, we have untapped reserves. In particular, both sides need to actively develop industrial cooperation, mutual investment, inter-regional economic cooperation," Ukrainian economic development minister concluded.
