Ukraine is at the final stage of implementing the first phase of the action plan on visa liberalization with the EU, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has said, Interfax informs.

"For the purpose of its [the first phase's] final completion it' necessary to adopt respective legislation on fight against corruption, the protection of personal data and the fight against discrimination," Acting Director of the Foreign Ministry's Information Policy Department Yevhen Perebyinis said at a briefing on Tuesday.

He said that all of the bills were currently pending in the Ukrainian parliament.

Perebyinis added that on April 18, the Verkhovna Rada passed a number of laws related to the fight against corruption. Kyiv will submit all legislative acts in this area to the European side for their analysis in accordance with European standards.

"The Foreign Ministry is currently preparing a third report on the progress by Ukraine in the implementation of the first [legislative] phase of the action plan on the liberalization by the European Union of the visa regime for Ukraine, which is to be passed to the European side after the final adoption by the Verkhovna Rada of the necessary laws," he said.
