Pensions will be paid on time in May in spite of a series of holidays of national importance, deputy chairman of the Pension Fund Board of Ukraine Valentyna Nikitenko told a press conference, ForUm correspondent reports.
"Authorities of pension provision will work in May in a normal mode to ensure timely payment and financing of pensions. The first payments will begin on Saturday, May 4 and will continue until May 25," Nikitenko said, noting that the postal and banking units will be funded as well.
She also noted that, according to the decree of the President, the payment of pensions to veterans and disabled veterans occurs by the 10th of each month.
According to her, today’s average pension in Ukraine is 1474 UAH, which is by 195 UAH more than in April of 2012.
