Foreign minister of Ukraine Leonid Kozhara considers that the issue of criminal case against former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko should not be an obstacle in relations between the EU and Ukraine, he said in an interview with the Day newspaper.

According to the foreign minister, this issue is currently extremely politicized. "Moreover, the EU sees this question as 'selective' justice. But I would like to emphasize that there is no 'selective' justice as a system of repression against the Ukrainian opposition through the judicial system in Ukraine. Such a system does not exist. There is a concrete criminal case, and it should be resolved purely in the legal sphere," Kozhara said.

"We strongly believe that one criminal case - against the former Prime Minister - cannot be an obstacle in relations between such a large state as Ukraine and the European Union," the minister said.
