The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) sees no reason to ban Russian TV presenter Ivan Urgant from entering Ukraine, deputy head of the Security Service of Ukraine Volodymyr Porodko told journalists, ForUm correspondent reports.

"The law clearly provides for the right of the SBU to introduce a temporary ban on the entry of foreigners into the territory of our state in case their actions threaten the national security. The same right has the Interior Ministry, when the actions of foreign citizens are of exclusively criminal nature. In this case, in my opinion, it was a lack of respect for the state, as well as for the people. It is difficult to regard this action as a violation of sovereignty," Porodko said.

He also stressed that the SBU has the right to take decision on the temporary ban on the entry in case the actions of individuals are harmful to state sovereignty, territorial integrity and constitutional order, political or economic system of the state.
