Within the context of preparation for signing of the Association Agreement and FTA with the European Union, Ukraine plans to sign a free trade agreement with the autonomous region of Denmark - the Faroe Islands.
According to the Economic Development and Trade Ministry of Ukraine, signing of the document was initiated by Denmark in connection with the fact that the Faroe Islands pursue independent economic policies and will not be subject to the agreement between Ukraine and the EU.
The Ministry press service noted that the free trade agreement with the Faroe Islands, which is under negotiation, provides for cancellation of all duties in mutual trade.
The Faroe Islands are autonomous region of the Kingdom of Denmark, which independently solve all state issues, except defense and foreign policy, since 1948.
