Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov assured citizens of Ukraine that the government will continue to increase social payments, he wrote on his page in Facebook, the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reported.

"We still have a lot of work to do in order to increase the level of pensions and wages," he said.

The Prime Minister reminded that many people received a pension of 588 UAH in 2008, and the amount of state social assistance for non-working persons was only 188 UAH per month in 2009.

"We have increased these payments by five times and will continue to increase," Azarov assured.
