Ukraine is the world leader in the export of sunflower oil, agrarian policy and food minister Mykola Prysiazhniuk said, responding to questions of MPs during the hour of questions to the government, ForUm correspondent reports.
"We are the only leader in the world market," he said and reminded that 58% of world exports of sunflower oil belong to Ukraine.
At the same time, according to the minister, the government realizes that it is impossible to increase the area for this crop. Ukraine needs to improve productivity.
In addition, Prysiazhniuk noted that the yield of sunflower in Ukraine is twice lower than the average in Europe.
