Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov instructed vice Prime Minister Yuri Boiko, energy minister Eduard Stavytsky and head of the National Commission for Energy Regulation Serhiy Tytenko to consider the situation with the violation of consumer rights on the gas market, ForUm correspondent reports from the Cabinet’s meeting.

“Ukrainian gas monopolies lost sense of reality. For example, in the village of Troyeshchyna in Kyiv, Kyivgaz gas company wants 300 UAH simply for replacement of a gas boiler, 2.500 UAH for working out technical conditions, and 7 thousand UAH for commissioning, not including the cost of materials and works,” PM outraged.

“Meanwhile in Kyiv, tens of thousands of dollars are sometimes required for connection to gas networks. It is uncontrolled market. Of course, this is abuse and violators should bear responsibility,” Azarov said.

Azarov said he considers necessary to stop activities of intermediaries, ban corrupt services of red-tapists, introduce a "single window" for connection to gas networks and introduce strict deadlines for consideration of applications of citizens.

“I demand to open a "hotline" for complaints of citizens about abuse on the gas market and response to such requests immediately,” Prime Minister summed up.
