
Ukrainian authorities are working consistently to solve social and economic issues of people and are not going to cut social programs, despite the challenging economic environment, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych stated, ForUm learned from the press service of the President.
"Although the economic situation is complicated, nobody cuts or cancels social programs in Ukraine in contrast to a number of the European Union countries. If the government was not successful in its work, believe me, the situation would be much worse," he said.
Commenting on the rallies organized by the opposition political forces, the President said that he like no one else knows the problems of the people and the current situation in the country.
He also drew attention to the fact that the number of other countries has more problems. "Unlike many countries, the situation in the Ukrainian economy is not catastrophic, and the government is working consistently to solve social and economic issues of the Ukrainian people," he stressed.
