Flooding has almost completed in Ukraine, and there is a tendency to flood decline, director of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center Mykola Kulbida told a briefing.

"The maximum levels of the spring flood formed in the hydrological regime of rivers of Ukraine over the last days. Flood is almost over and there is a tendency to a decrease in water level," he said.

According to him, water levels rise will continue in the Pripyat, Desna and the Upper Dnipro rivers.

Kulbida also noted that on April 10-14, the growth of water level above current levels by 10-40 cm is expected at the Pripyat River basin within the Volyn and Rivne regions, the tributaries of the Dniester River within Ternopil and Khmelnytsky regions.

"It is expected the rise of water in the Carpathian region. On April 10-11, precipitation in the form of rain is forecasted, which will increase the water marks by 0.5-1.5 m with a further increase in the flood plain. More intense rains are expected in the Carpathian region during April 13-14. After assessing the hydrological situation, preventive measures will be carried out here, if necessary," he said.

"In the area of Kyiv, passage of the maximum water levels will be observed at the end of April - early May. However, projected changes do not threaten residential areas and industrial sites," Kulbida said.

The head of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center also said that the next few days the temperature will rise up to +14-19 ° C.
