63 settlements are flooded in Kyiv region, director of emergency response department of the Emergency Service of Ukraine Hryhoriy Marchenko told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.
"42 houses in 63 settlements in Kyiv region are flooded. Now our people are working there, the water is pumped out. In some cases, situation is complicated by flooding of groundwater, and we just need to wait until reducing their level," he said.
According to Marchenko, the problem with groundwater flooding occurs throughout the area. The situation should return to normal in 3-4 days.
"We understand that the situation until the end of April can still change for the worse or the better, but we are getting ready for all options. Now part of forces (170 pieces of equipment) is repositioned to Kyiv region," the department director said.
Also, according to Marchenko, part of the technique is currently in reserve for a possible deterioration of the situation in the western region, and in case the water will come from the territory of Belarus and the Russian Federation in Chernihiv and Sumy region.
"We have enough forces and means to respond quickly to the situation," he said.
