Azarov demands to provide regions affected by bad weather with seeds

State reserve seed fund of Ukraine should provide all regions affected by bad weather with seeds, Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said at the Cabinet's meeting, ForUm correspondent reports.

"Affected regions should be provided with the necessary quantity of seeds from the state reserve seed fund, and the insurance companies must fulfill their obligations in full," the Prime Minister noted.

Azarov stressed that, in particular, about two hectares of farmland were flooded in the Zhytomyr region. Furthermore, the farmers in other regions have a complicated situation as well.

At the same time, he said that as of today, the winter crops came up at almost 100% of the sown area. "Regional state administration should conduct ongoing monitoring of the state of agricultural lands, sowing of winter crops and situation at business facilities of the agricultural sector," Azarov concluded.
