Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov demanded to minimize crop losses due to the prolonged winter.

"Adverse weather conditions often jeopardize our agriculture. This year winter may lead to lowering yields in the range 10-15%. Of course, these losses should be avoided due to technology and orderly conduct of the work. Agricultural productivity has to be resistant to the effects of climatic factors," PM said, opening a government meeting, ForUm correspondent reports.

He stressed that a lot of farms in Rivne, Volyn, Vinnytsia and other regions remain in high risk area.

"The main spring field works will begin here much later than usually. Therefore, special importance is the speed of conduct of works. Not only every day, but every hour should be used effectively. These are issues of organization, technique and uninterrupted supply, "- he said.

In addition, the Prime Minister instructed the Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry to conduct daily monitoring of the situation.
