Spain invested 30 million EUR for realization of alternative energy projects in Ukraine in 2013, ecology and natural resources minister Oleh Proskuriakov stated, the press service of the Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry informs.
“According to the contract on the AAU sale (Assigned Amount Units of greenhouse gases) with the Spanish side at a meeting of the Joint Steering Committee in Madrid (Spain) project proposals were selected for implementation, whose realization should be started in the current year. 30 million EUR have been already received for joint realization of these projects," he said, UKRINFORM reports.
According to Proskuriakov, the following projects are now waiting for an expert opinion: project for production and supply of heat and electricity through biogas recovery by recycling animal organic waste; project for modernization of thermal power plants in Sevastopol; building project of wind plants to create an autonomous wind farm for energy supply of the Dniprovsky Machine Building Plant, project on methane collection and electricity production in Lysychansk, Dniprodzerzhynsk Enerhodar, Berdiansk and Melitopol.
