Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Mr. Ian Tombinsky hopes for consensus support of MPs for the draft laws, necessary for the signing of the Association Agreement with the EU.

He said this on the air of the ICTV channel on April 8, answering the question of whether a parliamentary crisis may prevent the signing of the Association Agreement.

"The crisis in the Parliament actually hampers passing laws," he noted.

He also reminded that 4 out of 5 parliamentary factions supported the European integration course of Ukraine. The diplomat expressed hope that the necessary laws will also be taken by reaching consensus.

However, the EU ambassador added that the Parliament should deal not only with democracy demonstrations, but with decision-making as well. "Parliament is a place of democracy, where we have a conflict of opinions. However, there is a need to make decisions," he said.

Mr. Tombinsky stressed the need for respectful relations between the parliament majority and the opposition.
