Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Rybak believes that the law on higher education may be adopted by the end of 2013. He said this during a meeting with members of the Junior Academy of Sciences, held in the session hall of the Parliament.

According to Rybak, three bills on higher education are registered in the Parliament. One of which is the government’s bill, the second is made by deputies of the majority, and the third one - by opposition MPs.

Rybak said that today there is "no understanding" in this issue. According to him, a commission, comprising representatives of the majority, the opposition and the public, is to be set up "to work out a single bill".

"The bill will be submitted for consideration only after the public express their views. This is a very sensitive issue, so we will not be in a hurry," Rybak said.

He noted that the draft law on higher education is likely to be considered, "at the end of this year".
