289 chestnut trees will be planted in Khreshchatyk till the end of April, director general of the Kyivzelenbud municipally owned enterprise Mykhailo Tsarenko told a press conference, ForUm correspondent reports.
"The planting of chestnuts will start on Wednesday, April 10," he noted.
According to him, the city budget has allocated three million UAH for the purchase of chestnuts
Tzarenko added that this campaign is partly funded by the sponsors. "Thus, the UDP company sent 115 young plants of chestnuts "Carnea Briotii" to Kyiv from the north of Italy," he informed.
