Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Rybak does not rule out holding a referendum on confidence in the Ukrainian Parliament.
"Otherwise, MPs should find the strength to dissolve Parliament, if they cannot find a common ground ... There is no need to wait for the President to dissolve this Parliament. Another option is that the President may address the people and ask them whether they need such a Parliament,” Rybak said in an interview with the Inter TV channel on Sunday evening.
Speaking of the two-chamber parliament, the speaker said that "it is a debatable issue" as Ukraine is "unitary state".
Rybak also supports a mixed electoral system. "The parties have not gained their political weight. In my opinion, a mixed system is most appropriate for our country," the speaker of the Parliament concluded.
