Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has personally tested the readiness of local authorities for the spring floods.

As the Cabinet’s press office informs, the Prime Minister today visited the Zhytomyr region on a working visit, during which checked the readiness of local authorities for work to prevent emergency situations, which may arise in connection with the spring flood.
 


The meeting was attended by representatives of Zhytomyr, Rivne regional state administrations, the leadership of the State Emergency Service, the State Water Resources Agency, district state administrations.

"Situation is completely under control due to systematic work of the government to prepare for the flood. The most important thing is not to heroically eliminate the consequences of emergency, but to take all necessary measures to prevent such a situation. We have enough financial, material, technical resources in order to prevent disaster," Azarov said.
